Bracket order mode
Choose how Lune places your Take Profit and Stop Loss for each connected account.
This setting controls how Lune places your exit orders. It applies to each connection you set it on. Your account keeps working either way.
When you set a Take Profit or Stop Loss, Lune can handle it two ways. One way rests real orders at your broker. The other way watches price inside Lune and sends the exit when your level is hit. You pick the mode per connection on the Connections page.
Pick a mode#
Each connection shows an Order Execution Mode with two choices.
Broker NativeReal broker ordersOptionalYour limit and stop orders go straight to the broker. The broker holds them on the exchange, so they show up in your broker platform and rest there until they fill or you cancel them.
Lune ManagedPrice watchingOptionalLune watches the market in real time. When price hits your level, Lune sends a market order to close the position. The resting order lives inside Lune, not at the broker.
When to use each#
Use Broker Native when your broker supports native stop and limit orders and you want your exits visible at the broker. A real resting order stays in place even if Lune restarts, and you can see and manage it in your broker platform.
Use Lune Managed when your broker cannot place native bracket orders, or when you want Lune to handle the exit for you. Lune keeps watching price and fires the market order when your level is reached.
A Lune Managed exit lives inside Lune. It needs Lune connected and watching price to fire. A Broker Native exit rests at the broker, so it keeps working on its own.
Trade-offs at a glance#
Rests at the broker. Survives a Lune restart. Shows in your broker platform. Needs a broker that supports native brackets.
Watches price inside Lune. Works even where the broker lacks native brackets. Needs Lune connected to fire the exit.
Change the mode for an account#
Go to the Connections page and find the connection you want to change.
Under Order Execution Mode, select Broker Native or Lune Managed. Your choice saves for that connection.
Some changes take effect on the next reconnection. If Lune asks you to reconnect the account, do that so the new mode is live.
When you switch a connection to Lune Managed, Lune cancels any resting limit orders it had sent to the broker for that account. Check your broker platform to confirm no old orders are left.
Safe default#
New connections start in Lune Managed. This works across brokers, even ones without native bracket support. Switch to Broker Native when your broker supports native orders and you want your exits resting at the broker.
