Overview#

The Dashboard is an optional display on your TradingView chart that shows how your strategy is performing in real-time, with key numbers and statistics. It gives you a quick, scannable overview of the main performance metrics, helping you monitor your strategy at a glance.

The values shown on the dashboard are color-coded to indicate performance, with positive results in green and negative results in red, so you can assess them at a glance.

Performance metrics displayed#

The dashboard presents the following key performance indicators:

MetricDescription
Net Profit %The total profit or loss of the strategy, shown as a percentage of the initial capital.
Total TradesThe total number of trades that have been completed (both winners and losers).
Win Rate %The percentage of trades that were profitable out of the total number of trades.
Profit FactorThe ratio of gross profit to gross loss. A value greater than 1 indicates a profitable strategy.
Max Drawdown %The ratio of gross profit to gross loss. A value greater than 1 indicates a profitable strategy.

Best practices & usage#

  • Quick performance checks: Use the dashboard for a fast way to see how your strategy is performing without opening the full Strategy Tester report.
  • Use colors as a guide: The color-coded metrics help you spot strong or weak areas of your strategy's performance. Green shows positive results, while red highlights areas that may need attention.
  • Compare with full reports: For a more detailed analysis, compare the dashboard's summary with the data in TradingView's Strategy Tester report.
